Korey Henson is an unwavering optimist who helps build happy and fulfilled lawyers. Runway Strategies is built for the purpose of furthering his professional life’s mission of helping lawyers find work and workplaces that give them the long term career satisfaction and fulfillment they need to thrive in their careers.

He has coached and mentored over 1,400 law students and lawyers on their personal journey to career success and has helped launch lawyer careers in all 50 states. Korey has helped countless law firms and businesses, locally and nationally, find the right fit legal talent for their need with a specific focus on making the recruiting process easier.

Korey is an award winning career coach and mentor, having received the J. Ben Watkins Award for Excellence in the Legal Profession, honoring individuals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and accomplishment in the legal community.

Korey has served his profession comprehensively at the national, state, and local levels through extensive involvement and leadership in the National Association for Law Placement (NALP), the Florida Association for Legal Recruitment Administrators (FALRA), the South Florida Association for Law Placement (SFALP), Tampa Bay Legal Recruiters (TBLR), and the Central Florida Association for Law Placement (CFALP).  In particular, Korey has served NALP as a past co-chair of the JD Advisors Section’s Employer Outreach Working Group, Vice-Chair of the Experienced Professionals Newer Professionals Collaboration Working Group, a member of the 2020 Annual Education Conference Planning Team, the NALP ABA Employer Reporting Outcomes Task Force, and was elected to the 2021 Nominating Committee.

He graduated with his J.D. from Stetson Law where he served as managing editor of the Journal of International Aging Law & Policy and a research assistant to Professor Rebecca C. Morgan, and received the Cecil C. and August M. Bailey Scholarship, the Matthew Bender Elder Law Book Award, and the Victor O. Wehle Trial Advocacy Award. After graduating from Stetson, he practiced in South Carolina, focusing on elder law, estate planning, and business law, before returning to the Tampa Bay area where he calls home.

Korey lives at the beach, lives for adventure, loves all things whimsy, and loves serving his local community on several non-profit boards for youth sports organizations.
